Rougned Roberto Odor…owns and rides horses in Maracaibo, Venezuela in the off-season...played amateur baseball in his hometown of Maracaibo, Venezuela… was selected as the all-tournament 2B in the 2009 World Youth Baseball Championship…his uncle, Rouglas Odor, played in the Cleveland and Milwaukee organizations and was a Carolina League All-Star in 1990…Rouglas is currently manager for High-A Lynchburg of the Carolina League, and he is in his 31st season as a player or coach in the Cleveland Indians organization.


Ranked among team leaders in HR (2nd, 30), TB (T2nd, 241), GW RBI (T2nd, 10), XBH (3rd, 54), SB (3rd, 15), runs (4th, 79), RBI (5th, 75), and 2B (5th, 21)…with .204/.252/.397/.649 slash line, saw lowest career figures in each of those 4 percentage categories for any of his 4 ML seasons…set career high with 32 BB, 13 more than in 2016... Club's Opening Day second baseman batted .261 (111- 426) with 21 doubles, nine triples, 16 HR, and 61 RBI in 120 games, surpassing his 2014 rookie totals in every significant offensive category…was optioned to Class AAA Round Rock after just 29 games, but reclaimed the second base job upon his return on June 15 and posted the sixth-highest OPS (.781) among all second basemen last season…had two stints with the Rangers: Opening Day- May10 and June 15-end of season.


Was purchased from Frisco (AA) on May 8 and went on to start 106 games at 2B and one as the DH the rest of the season as the majors' youngest player...was selected as the Rangers Rookie of the Year...tied for 8th in the A.L. in triples (7), matching the 2nd most on the club, and placed 3rd on Rangers in RBI (48)...ranked among the A.L. rookie leaders in triples (T2nd), RBI (4th), hits (6th, 100) and multi-hit games (6th, 23)...was just the 2nd Texas rookie ever with 7 or more 2B (14), 3B (7), and HR (9) in a season, joining Ruben Sierra in 1986.


Named organization's Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year after combining to hit a career-best .305 (156-511) with 41 doubles, 6 triples, 11 HR, and 78 RBI in 130 games with Myrtle Beach (High-A) and Frisco (AA)…the .305 figure was highest among all full season Texas farmhands…finished T3rd among all minor league players with 41 doubles…ranked in both the Carolina League (3rd) and Texas League (4th) seasonending prospect lists by Baseball America.


Spent entire campaign with Hickory as the youngest regular in the South Atlantic League..tabbed the 20th-best prospect and the top defensive second baseman in the SAL by Baseball America..…appeared in 85 games at second and 15 contests at shortstop…named the SAL Player of the Week for May 21-27, batting .364 (8-22) with 5 doubles, a home run, 4 RBI, and 7 runs over 7 games…..compiled a 26-game onbase streak from April 28-May 30, batting .327 (33-101) with 9 walks…..batted .293 (56-191) with 14 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and 29 RBI over 49 games prior to the All-Star break, .232 (56-241) over 60 games in the second half…..selected as the organization's Defender of the Month for July.


Assigned to Spokane in Northwest League after signing, a circuit usually reserved for college draftees…named the 7th-best prospect in the NWL by Baseball America…recorded the most putouts by any second baseman in the circuit and ranked 2nd on club in steals (10)…batted .304 (55-181) over first 43 games and .109 (6-55) over final 15 contests…hit first career grand slam on July 17 at Everett.
